III · The Process
003

The work begins
before the camera.

The first month is reading. Books, scores, archives, walks through the suburb that's about to become a set. The crew does not show up to a draft. They show up to a thesis.

The second month is casting and light. Faces matter more than names. Light matters more than coverage. We rehearse with no camera so the camera can move freely later.

The third month is committing. Every choice on the day comes from those two months. The set is calm because the work was already done.
